THIRD LEARNING /TEACHING ACTIVITY: VISIT TO ACQUAVIVA DELLE FONTI, ITALY

From 19th to 25th November, four students and three teachers from our school visited the village of Acquaviva delle Fonti, in the southern region of Puglia, in the southeast of Italy.

As part of our rasmus project, many activities concerning CLIL methodology and cultural and social aspects were held: presentations concerning Italian geography, art and literature, cultural visits to the cities of Otranto, Bari, Lecce, Alberobello, Polignano a mare,  perspectives on the different countries of the project, street games , art workshops and a series of activities that helped strenghen our students’ bonds, which is one of the main goals of our project.

It was a great experience for both students and teachers involved in the project.

SECOND TRANSNATIONAL MEETING IN POVASZKA BYSTRICA ( SLOVAKIA )

From September 18 to 22 the second Transnational Meeting of the project was held in the town of Povaszka Bystrica in Slovakia. Teachers from all the countries taking part in the project worked during the week at school, discussing and having  agreements about the project results and outcomes to be done this school year.

Also, there were a couple of days when all teachers visited some interesting places like Koliba, Banská Štiavnica or Žilina.

We have a year ahead with a lot of work and hopes in our project.

Next visit: Aquaviva delle Fonti ( Italy ), with students and teachers from our school.

During the last weeks of the school year our students have carried out the CLIL units assigned to Spain ( Music and Social Sciences ), as part of the project CLIL as a Bridge to Real Life English. After all the countries of the project having voted, the winner of the Photographic Contest ‘ A Landscape of my Town’ is Turkey .

PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTEST ‘THE LANDSCAPE OF MY TOWN’

ONLINE PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTEST
Rules:
– Each school is to choose 40 pictures and to send them via e-mail to the Coordinating school.
– One student can upload only ONE photo to the contest (it means 40 pictures from 40 students)
–  School coordinator collects all the photos and sends them collectively via e-mail .
– If there are more photos given in for the contest, School coordinator can organise a pre-contest to choose 40 best ones that will take part in the official online contest.
– The deadline for sending the photos is the 22nd May 2017.
– All photos are to represent the topic of the contest, which is “The landscape of my town”.
– Until the end of May 2017, an external jury will pick 5 best photos from each country.
– On the 1st of June 2017 an online poll will begin. Students from each partner school will vote for the best photo (out of those chosen by the jury).
– Students are not allowed to vote for the photos from their own country.
– Each country has maximum of 30 votes (if there are more votes from a country, only the first 30 votes will be accepted).

Meeting on CLIL methodology

Last week we had a meeting on CLIL methodoloy in our school, IES La Escribana, as part of the Erasmus Plus project. Teachers involved in the project discussed about CLIL activities , as we have a bilingual programme( in English )  in our school with Science, Geography and History, Music and Citizenship Education .

SECOND VISIT : PLEVEN ( BULGARIA )

From February 27th to March 3rd all partners visited Pleven ( Bulgaria), with teachers and students involved in the project.

The programme of the visit included a number of activities at school, in which opur students participated actively ( presentations, folklore dances, stereotypes workshops, a photographic contest,etc) and cultural visits to some old towns in Bulgaria and also a visit to the capital , Sofia.

During the visit, the programme also included some meetings , to take decisions about the future of the project and the feedback from the two visits ( Spain and Bulgaria ) we have done this school year.

We finished the visit with a farewell dinner and we had to say goodbye to Pleven!
